So here's what those tiny HST's were for...a pincushion! This will be sent off for a pincushion swap between the Kansas City, Austin, Wichita, Bay Area, Vancouver, Indianapolis, Boston, and Northern Virginia Modern Quilt Guilds.  Whew.

It was fun to make, but man.  those tiny HST's were a pain to piece.  I used the Magic HST technique (where you sew around the square and cut it diagonally twice.)  I dont know if it was the best way due to the bias edges and it being so small, but I think it turned out pretty well.

Cant wait to see what I receive back in the swap!

What do you think of the new design here on the blog?  I thought it was time to give it a fresh look.

I have been sewing, but not photographing my progress!  I need to get better at that...

Anyways, Halloween has gone, and not a photo in sight of the knight costumes I made the boys...I keep meaning to get them back up in costume gear, but things keep getting in my way.

Like borrowing candy from their buckets.

Or more like working feverishly on Christmas sewing.

Patchwork stockings that I think I've mentioned before.  I love the look of the free pieced letters.  I've added just a bit of hand stitching to give each a little personal touch.  I'm so looking forward to the holidays this year, it has been a long year!
