Just a quick observation for tonight - I've got a longer post coming up tomorrow or Wednesday after I take a few photos...
Have you ever thought about how your color sense changes over time?
I've been wrestling with a quilt top for a few years now, I sew it up a little, put it away, pull it out, fiddle, etc. Its the second quilt I ever started
its this stack of blocks I posted about some time ago:
Mostly fabric from Heather Bailey's Freshcut line, with some random Moda prints thrown in. I bought the fabric for the quilt, 4-5 years ago, so its all out of print.
But I am just not feeling it. I pulled it out the other day after we painted our bedroom, and it just isn't working. I don't think its the pattern (based on Oh, Fransson's MixTape) but rather the fabric. The colors just don't speak to me.
I think I've been successful in my attempt to push myself color-wise - from this quilt, which is heavy on the greens and browns (if I decided to add more fabric, i would pull in some bright oranges and turquoise-y blues to round it out a little) to what I am working on now (a warm/cool HST value quilt for the warm/cool quilt-along) which is a rainbow of color, and I love it!
I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with the top, but for now, I'm pulling the white sashing out, and I guess I will go from there!
